After all the chaos and change of 2017, I was certainly excited to see the balance in this years wheel! Woohoo! 2017 was a challenging year, yet if we did our work, we are going to have some fun this year:)

THEMES TO GUIDE US FOR 2018
OUR GUIDE IS OUR NORTH STAR
We have a lot of earth medicine at the beginning of the year for grounding at our core. In this grounding, we are able to hear our own voice and become our own oracle so that we can be guided by our own north star. By staying in our own lane, we bring forth our light into the world while gaining and gleaning wisdom through direct experience.
INTEGRATION TO ACCESS INSPIRATION
By anchoring into our core and operating from this grounded place, we are able to fully integrate our personal power and strength. We need to completely free ourselves from seeking outside ourselves so we can access our own inspiration for action with courage.
EMBRACE THE DARK AND THE LIGHT
The energy of inner strength, self control and safety is available for us to more deeply process and completely shift or clear those dark sticky bits of ourselves that we might have been afraid to look at last year, for fear of never returning to the light. We have a lot of light this year! And this is the year, to embrace the dark and light by balancing them out. Get some assistance with this and give some assistance to others.
THE FUTURE SO BRIGHT, GOTTA WEAR SHADES
This year is full of Star energy bringing us inspiration! Keep your eyes open and take a stand for who you really are. Last year was about getting to know yourself, this year is about bringing it forth. This is full expression for inward and outward weaving through the year as we re-calibrate.
ORDINARY MEETS OTHERWORLDLY
As we start to step out of the little me into the greater me...the ordinary will meet the otherworldly. This is when we are able to serve at a higher level and bring our gifts of color to the world. As long as we continue to go inward and dive into the void where all creation is, then we can shine again and again. The cycle of power continues in an ever-evolving spiral as we face the sun and expand our hearts, expressing deep Gratitude of our guides and ancestors.

The sunflower is a powerful symbol for us again this year, with a little extra umph because the Sun is in the wheel big time! Like the Sun, the sunflower is abundance, prosperity and warmth. Just like the sunflower tracks the sun, utilizing this energy will point you in the right direction of your illumination! It is also a great symbol of strength for the journey. So grab a vase, fill it with sunflowers and meditate on them...and be in awe of the delight!

Horse medicine comes into the wheel this year to show you a way toward real balance knowing that true power is wisdom found in remembering your total journey. Overall, the horse medicine represents extreme physical power and an unearthly power.

Star Medicine/Energy:
Star energy will assist in finding your Soul purpose and meaning in life if you are open to new ideas and your growth. This will entail listening to your own voice and following your North Star as previously mentioned.
Sun Medicine/Energy:
Sun energy represents the source of all life as it brings optimism, fulfillment and innocence (sacred fool). As you remain true to self, sun energy brings happiness and brings out our Joy essence. Sun medicine is a very ACTIVE energy...
this is the year to not think so much and to take action on your ideas. And, if they don’t work out, take action again. Sun is very aligning!
ELEMENTS: EARTH AND FIRE
NOTE: Even though we have all the Elements this year, the predominant energies are Earth and Fire.
Earth Medicine/Energy:
Earth medicine/energy represents physical health, grounding and foundations. A good choice this year is to focus on our physical bodies and health and to pay more attention to our senses-all of them. That means 'Gettin' Jiggy' with our bodies and out of our heads. Earth energy will assist us in creating stronger foundations with all our encounters including businesses, relationships, projects, etc.
Just keep laying a strong foundation!
So get your bare feet out on the earth and do a little happy dance, thanking our beautiful Pacha Mama for all her support! Of course, Earth energy is fertility and creativity so have fun with that! Earth energy will assist us when we are overly emotional. Sometimes just stepping out onto the grass can ground the mind (your air energy).
Fire Medicine/Energy:
Fire is creative action-not just action for action's sake. It’s got an extra bit of movement in it! I LOOOOVEEE Fire.... it's rapid transformation!
Fire will take all those ideas (mental-air) and spark them into action. Fire assists you in the courage to act! And of course, regularly getting to fire ceremony or doing it at home will let the fire do it’s work assisting with illuminating your path.
