What is Really "Holding Space"?

“We can never judge the lives of others because each person knows only their own pain and renunciation. It’s one thing to feel that you are on the right path but it’s another to think that yours is the only path.”

~Paulo Coelho

Have you noticed I’ve become very quiet in the last year?

This is an external quiet, while internally I am on fire. It started as a wee flame and it’s been building as I add one log at a time.

Quiet is a funny experience.

I have been extremely busy in my day to day life. Seeing as many people are suffering and confused during this time. I am able to suit up and show up as Shaman and at the same time add logs to my internal flame.

Would "little Lisa" like to sit on a mountain top and dream the world into being? Of course! Yet, that is not what I am here for in this lifetime. I am here to be of service for the SOUL of humanity.

This requires me to be in the trenches and on the mountaintop in equal balance.

This requires me to “hold space” and take action.

This requires me to see the long game and the big picture so I don’t fall into despair or listen to Armageddon fear. I was born in 1959 during a time of bomb shelters being built. I have witnessed Armageddon speak my whole life.

Money shortages, food shortages, war after war. You get the picture.

Can we hold space for people in our lives?

Can we hold space for humanity?

Can we hold space for ourselves?

So what is “holding space” really?

Real holding space is having no agenda as to outcome, stepping out of judgment with ourselves, others and humanity. It’s allowing a soft space within us for surrender so we may be present for ourselves, other people and humanity. It’s not getting caught up or colluding in the drama of the moment...the moment will change, Change is the only constant we have. (whether we like it or not) LOL!

Real holding space softens the heart and keeps us in the present moment so our souls can express true purity of love.

No past-no future allows us to create and dream our world into being.

-Are you willing to walk alongside another person in whatever journey they are on without judging them, making them feel inadequate, trying to "fix" them, or trying to impact the outcome?

-Are you willing to walk alongside yourself in whatever journey you are on without judging yourself, making yourself feel inadequate, trying to “fix” yourself, or trying to impact the outcome? If you are willing and available to make this a practice in your life, this simple act of holding space for yourself and the ones in your immediate circle just might surprise you as you start to see the ripple effect for all of humanity. And then, imagine what life would be like if all of us have a softer heart? Can I get a Shaman hallelujah dance! To sum it up a bit: Holding space is sitting on the mountaintop and being in the trenches. It is the action step! Try it. Watch how easy or difficult it is for you.

And keep practicing, I mean seriously, who doesn’t want a softening heart able to hold all of humanity sweetly. Let’s abolish the fear energy (oops, that sounds like an agenda.) LOL

P.S. For those of you who have received the Munay-Ki rites, this is a powerful practice as Munay-Ki means LOVE IN ACTION! Woohoo! Truly holding space is Munay. AHO! P.P.S. For those of you who would like to receive the Munay-Ki rites, they are part of my 12 week Soul Journey. If you wish to learn more about the Munay-Ki, go here!
